Using Herald in the Classroom

Herald in the Classroom is a full-text selected archive of Sydney Morning Herald articles.

  To search:
Click on the link to Herald in the Classroom (www.heraldeducation.smh.com.au).
Click on the Members' Area Login button on the left navigation panel. A login box will appear. Click on Select School.

Type St Andrew’s Cathedral School in the school box (with the apostrophe). It should recognise it after you type "St And". If not type the whole name and put in Sydney for the suburb.
Enter the password (ask the library staff) or refer to your password sheet.

To search for an article click on News Archive on the left navigation bar.
You can Browse categories by selecting an issue and/or category, OR you can do a keyword search for an article, e.g heart disease, federal budget. You can select the number of hits you would like.

Make sure your spelling is accurate. If you select ALL the keywords, this will narrow your search. ANY will make it broad.
You can choose up to 50 links to articles to be displayed using the drop down menu.
Click on the Go button.
Read the summary to see if the article seems relevant.
For the full text, click on the link to the article.
